Customer Service
The service you can expect
We take pride in offering exceptional service and aim to send your order as quickly as possible. Please expect delivery on items in stock within ten working days, although most stock items are normally sent within 24 hours. Occasionally there are delays, in which case we will keep you fully informed.
We make every effort to ensure all items on the website are available for sale. Sometimes there is high demand and an item may be out of stock, in which case we will let you know when you can expect it. If an item becomes unavailable, we will suggest an alternative. If your order cannot be despatched within seven working days we will keep you informed of progress and you will have the option to cancel your order.
Payment and pricing
We accept payment via the Protx Secure Payment System for all credit/debit card transactions. We also accept payment via PayPal. All items include VAT at 17.5%.
The price you pay is the price displayed on this website at the time we receive your order apart from the following exception:
While we try and ensure that all prices on our website are accurate, errors may occur. If we discover an error in the price of goods you have ordered we will inform you as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it. If we are unable to contact you we will treat the order as cancelled. If you cancel and you have already paid for the goods, you will receive a full refund.
Conditions for the Sale of Knives
We do not accept VISA Electron or Solo cards for the purchase of kitchen knives. This is because these cards are available to individuals under the age of 16 who are not legally entitled to purchase kitchen knives.
Secure transactions
For optimum peace of mind we ensure that online transactions are as secure as possible. We don't store details of your credit or debit card.
Delivery
Postage and packing is charged at £4.95 and is FREE for orders over £100. Post and packing rates apply to UK mainland orders only. For Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland and International orders, delivery rates will vary, and you will be informed of what these will cost via an email sent to your registered email address once the order has been taken. If you would like more information about International delivery rates prior to ordering, please do not hesitate to contact us. Your order will be delivered by courier or Royal Mail.
If you are out when the courier arrives, they will leave details of what to do. You normally have to sign for your delivery, but it can be left with a neighbour or delivered to a different address if you put the delivery details in when you place your order. Local to Chichester? You can pick up your order FREE from the Chichester Cookshop.
Returns and Refund Policy
If any product does not meet you expectations, please return it to us within 14 days of purchase, unused and in its original packaging together with your receipt, for a refund or replacement. This is in addition to your statutory rights. Please retain proof of posting as we cannot accept responsibility for returned items lost in transit. Unless items are damaged or faulty, you are responsible for postage. You can also collect and return items in person to our shop in Chichester.
Customer mailings
We like to keep our customers informed of special offers and new ranges and send occasional mailings by post or email. Please notify us by email if you do not wish to receive any mailings from us. Your information is confidential and held in accordance with the Data Protection Act. We do not sell customer details to third parties.
